GAMBARAN NILAI IMMATURE PLATELET FRACTION (IPF) PADA PASIEN DENGUE HEMORRHAGIC FEVER (DHF) DENGAN TROMBOSITOPENIA BERAT DI RUMAHSAKIT SILOAM KEBON JERUK
Dengue fever is a disease caused by dengue virus infection and characterized by a decrease in the number of platelets in the blood, known as thrombocytopenia. This decrease in platelet count can lead to a serious risk of bleeding in patients. The immature platelet fraction (IPF) is a parameter that can be used to estimate the production and loss of platelets in the body. This study aims to describe the value of Immature Platelet Fraction (IPF) in patients with Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) and thrombocytopenia at Siloam Kebon Jeruk Hospital. The research data was collected from January to March 2023. A total of 23 DHF patients with severe thrombocytopenia were included in the study, with 13 male patients (56.52%) and 10 female patients (43.48%). The most common age group in this study was the 26- 45 age group with 10 individuals (43.48%). In this study, the measurement of Immature Platelet Fraction (IPF) was conducted as a parameter of trombopoiesis activity in patients with DHF and severe thrombocytopenia. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that examining the value of IPF is important to determine the cause of thrombocytopenia, especially in cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). The Immature Platelet Fraction (IPF) value increases in DHF patients with thrombocytopenia, indicating an increase in platelet destruction. Therefore, measuring IPF can be a useful tool in diagnosing and understanding the mechanisms of thrombocytopenia in DHF.
