PREDICTORS OF HOSPITAL LENGTH OF STAY AMONG PREGNANT WOMEN WITH HYPEREMESIS GRAVIDARUM: A CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDY IN TANGERANG DISTRICT HOSPITAL, INDONESIA
Background: Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) remains a major cause of maternal morbidity and hospitalization in pregnancy. This study aimed to identify maternal factors influencing hospital stay duration among patients diagnosed with HG at Tangerang District Hospital in 2024.\\r\\nMethods: A cross-sectional study was conducted using 32 medical records of pregnant women hospitalized for HG between January and June 2024. Independent variables were gestational age, parity, and HG severity, while the dependent variable was length of hospital stay. Data were analyzed using Chi-square and logistic regression tests.\\r\\nResults: Most respondents were in the risky gestational age group (35 years) (78.1%), multiparous (71.9%), and had moderate to severe HG (50%). Significant associations were found for gestational age (p = 0.018), parity (p = 0.043), and severity (p = 0.005). Logistic regression identified HG severity (AOR = 4.9; 95% CI: 1.6–15.0; p = 0.004) and risky gestational age (AOR = 2.8; 95% CI: 1.1–7.2; p = 0.032) as independent predictors of prolonged hospitalization.\\r\\nConclusion: Severity of HG and risky gestational age significantly increase the likelihood of longer hospital stay. Early detection and targeted management can reduce hospital burden and improve maternal outcomes.
